My job

As a senior sustainability consultant in Ramboll’s buildings division, I work with clients and architects to find innovative ways to reduce their energy consumption and lower their carbon footprint. Part of my role is to factor wellness into our projects by incorporating features that will provide occupants with the best building experience.

Discovering my passion

After completing my BE (Hons) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from BITS-Pilani, Dubai, I worked for a lighting consultant where I saw the impact that small changes to energy consumption and carbon emissions could make, which inspired me to pursue a Masters in Building Performance and Sustainability from the National University of Singapore before applying for a job with Ramboll.

Meet Neshat Sakeena, senior sustainability consultants based in the Dubai office.

Looking to a more sustainable future
Through my time at Ramboll, I have been able to grow professionally and have qualified in green rating systems such as LEED and Estidama. I am a LEED AP BD+C, Estidama PQP (Building & Community), GSAS CGP, WELL AP™, and earlier this year I obtained my qualification as a Certified Energy Manager (CEM®).

Working at Ramboll I can provide sustainable solutions on landmark projects. The Tadawul Tower in Riyadh was one of my first LEED Gold design projects and one of the first high-rise towers in the region to target LEED Gold and incorporate effective passive and active systems. The building has been designed with smart technologies and touch screens to engage and communicate the sustainability features with its occupants and visitors. When I refer to this project, I feel incredibly proud of the achievement.

I would like to continue working with clients and end-users on new and developing concepts like Net Zero, embodied carbon, circular economy and climate change adaptation strategies where I can share solutions that are not only innovative and cost effective but are sustainable.
