My journey

I am originally from Jordan but have spent most of my life in Dubai - home to some of the world’s most renowned projects. Living in such a vibrant city, I am passionate about engineering and witnessing how the built environment can transform places.

After completing my bachelors in civil engineering at Swansea University, I was curious to step outside the ‘engineering design’ box and pursued a Master’s degree in project management at the University of Manchester. After graduation I joined Ramboll as a Junior Project Controls Engineer as part of the Project Excellence team. During my first two years at Ramboll I worked predominantly in project scheduling and cost planning and control, while also assisting project managers on bigger projects. More recently I transferred to the Project Management team and was assigned my first project as lead project manager.
Working in a diverse organisation with so many cultures
I’ve had the opportunity to travel to India to roll out our Project Excellence programme - an experience I thoroughly enjoyed as I got to spend time with my colleagues, learn about their culture and their approach to projects. But what I found to be incredibly interesting is how Ramboll has managed to embed its strong Nordic heritage and fundamentals across all its offices worldwide, that if one was to visit the office in Mumbai or Dubai the work ethic and the way we make decisions and how we deliver projects is all the same.

Collaboration – it’s how we deliver projects
There is also a lot of flexibility to move between departments and countries, and this makes working for Ramboll so exciting. In the time I have worked for Ramboll I have had the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues in different countries on landmark projects. It is comforting to know that no matter where the project is in the world, we are backed by 15,500 experts globally ready to share knowledge or to undertake projects that under normal circumstances we would have had to forego if we did not have the expertise in the country.

Committed to development
Ramboll’s leadership is committed to developing its people to ensure they have the ability to advance in their chosen profession. I am also part of the Middle East’s mentorship program where my mentor is the Finance Director for Ramboll’s Middle East & Asia Pacific region, and I have truly benefitted by this.

My career has just begun with Ramboll, and I am eager to see where it leads me.
