Kevin Hares is a Senior Engineer within the Structures Group of Ramboll in the UK. He joined the practice in 2008 as a graduate engineer and became a Design Engineer in 2010. 

Kevin has worked on a variety of complex projects in the commercial, residential, aviation, medical, and arts sectors, often involving multiple Ramboll disciplines. His recent domestic experience has been within the delivery of 2 large commercial developments within the city. Internationally, Kevin's CV includes projects across Europe, Russia, Asia and the Middle East, most notably the design of Pulkovo airport terminal roof, and a high rise mixed-use development in Jakarta.

He recently spent 6 months as a consultant in the Ramboll headquarters in Denmark to deliver a new 16 storey medical research centre in the centre of Copenhagen in collaboration with Ramboll Denmark and India.

Kevin has developed a strong technical and analytical background in steel and concrete. His research into strengthened concrete was recognised with an award from the IStructE. He has gained specialist knowledge in long span and high rise structures, non-linear modelling, and international working. Kevin is a peer reviewer for the ICE proceedings journal on long span and aviation papers and has work published by the IABSE, IStructE and ICE. His projects have been recently recognised, with the IStructE Structural Awards winner Pulkovo Airport, and Moorgate Exchange, which won a Structural Steel Award.

William Perkin High School

Containing 3,800 cubic metres of timber, the William Perkin High School is the largest cross laminated timber building in the UK.

Dalston Works

Dalston Works (previously known as Dalston Lane) is the largest Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) project globally, using more timber than any other scheme in the world by volume.

Open Academy, Norwich

Upon completion the largest cross laminated timber panel structure in the UK saving an estimated 2,900 tonnes of CO2. The structural design for the 9,500 sq m flexible school accommodation utilised 3D integrated modelling.
