Ramboll’s CSR committee in India has partnered with NGOs in Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi and Gujarat to hand out basic food provisions and sanitation kits to families that have been severely impacted by the pandemic.
Some of the initiatives include:
Working with Yuva Unstoppable, Ramboll has distributed more than 1,000 ration kits to families living on the streets in Delhi, as well as scholarship students and migrant labourers in Gujarat.
With no income and food as a result of the lockdown, the poorest of communities made up daily wage-earners differently-abled and widows were hardest hit. Ramboll working with Aid India Mumbai supplied food and dry rations to 800 families in the slums of Mumbai.
In partnership with Aid India Chennai, Ramboll distributed food and dry rations to 15,748 families across 1,266 villages and slums in Tamil Nadu, Andhra, Pradesh, Orissa, Rajasthan and Maharashtra. Our employees also distributed 1,540 face masks, 350 PPE kits with 70,250 surgical masks, 100 blood pressure monitors and 92 oximeters to various hospitals and primary health centres as well as to police and sanitation works in Chennai, Thiruvanamalai and Coimbatore.
Our focus for the remainder of the year will be to see how we can partner with NGOs to support migrant workers who have lost their income through job creation initiatives.
