Offshore Environmental Survey, Bass Strait, Australia
Working alongside multinational teams, Ramboll was appointed by Fugro Marine Australia as the lead marine expert to undertake an offshore environmental survey in the Bass Strait between mainland Australia and Tasmania.
The primary purpose of the study was to determine the suitability of the seabed for drilling operations and installation of infrastructure that ensures no sensitive biological or ecological areas would be disturbed. The project entailed collecting offshore, analysing and reporting samples, water quality, sediment quality, biological community analysis, and image analysis.
