Commenting on his win, Brian said “It really was a surprise but also a great honour to win this award. A Project Manager is only as strong as the team behind him, so I would like to say a huge thanks to everyone within Ramboll and the consultants with whom we work for the support I have been given. I have been fortunate enough to work on some very special projects with very talented people and I look to more of the same in the future. I hope this will inspire others to put themselves forward for similar awards to highlight to the Middle East construction community the quality we can offer.”
Brian leads the Buildings Project Management team for Ramboll Middle East, and has been involved in the most challenging and high-profile projects in the region. These projects include the Green Planet and Hub Zero which are unique entertainment attractions in Dubai, and the 120,000 sqm Khalifa University extension in Abu Dhabi.
He has a great ability and the required people management skills to inspire his PMs to take on challenging projects and is extremely supportive on commercial and project delivery issues. He has been an instrumental in developing his team's career and path and was a key member of the PM team.
Brian is a qualified Civil Engineer, but through his passion and energy for Project Management, he also pursued a PMP qualification early in his career. This has given Brian the ability to enhance both his operational and organisational skills.

The Construction Week Award is a highly regard industry award in the region. The annual event recognizes both individual and business achievements for consultants and contractors in the Middle East. Ramboll was a category sponsor for this year’s event for “Engineer of the Year.” Rob Hounsome, Regional Director for Infrastructure and Environment, presented the trophy to the winner of the "Engineer of the Year."
A landmark enclosed bio-dome ecosystem housing some 3,000 plants and animals invites visitors to discover the wonders of a tropical rainforest.
Appointed as the lead design consultant for this project, Ramboll provided the multi-disciplinary engineering services as well as validated and optimised the initial design and reviewed the constructability that have enabled the client to create a vibrant environment that invites visitors to “live the game”.
The Khalifa University Extension Phase 1 Project will add an additional area of 120,000 sqm to the existing 34,500 sqm of the current campus. Ramboll provided multidisciplinary services for extension.
