Organised by the UN Environment, League of Arab States, UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and The Center for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE), the roundtable meeting - From Action Plans to Implementation - examined ways in which Arab nations can implement plans for sustainable consumption and production as well as reviewing the progress made by these countries in meeting the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
At this event, Nagwa El Karawy, Associate Director, Environment from the Middle East presented Sustainable Integrated Waste Management – Lessons learned. She addressed how waste management is a component of the SDGs and how Ramboll is using this to deliver projects in the Arab countries and internationally.
The roundtable was well attended by representatives from governments, industry, academia and the private sectors where current initiatives and ideas were shared on how they can play a part in making consumption and production sustainable.
