Scania wanted to establish a local production centre to grow and expand their business in India. Ramboll partnered with them right from the start with budgetary and costing support and estimation of timelines for construction and continues to support them till date.
Ramboll was engaged to be the principal consultant for them. This entailed handling all the aspects of developing the site and setting up the facilities required. We engaged architects and other consultants for the design and construction management of the whole project.
Ramboll helped Scania with the developing solutions meeting their stringent quality requirements in line with the local market conditions where good contractors were scarce for the projects of this size.
Progression of the Scania project
Ramboll has designed and now managing the construction of assembly workshop (8000 square metre), body building workshop (10,000 square metre). The Phase-1 of the project has been successfully inaugurated in October 2013 while the Phase-2 was inaugurated in March 2015.
