The Morvin field is located 20 kilometres west of the Åsgard B platform at Haltenbanken in the Norwegian Sea.
Built on previous experience
Statoil will utilize experience from the Kristin field to develop the Morvin field. The recoverable reserves in the Morvin field are estimated at 70 million barrels of oil equivalent with an estimated production period of 14 years. The oil will be piped 20 kilometres to Åsgård B, where the oil will be processed. If everything goes as planned Morvin may come on stream in the summer of 2010.
