For the Dahme-Spreewald District in Germany, Ramboll has identified how CO2 emissions may be reduced. Our analysis includes all public buildings as well as the car pool and cycling path network in the municipality.

Greenwich Peninsula Energy Network

Greenwich Peninsula is a new development consisting of over 10,000 new homes and commercial space. The development has a build programme of 20 years.

Extension of District Heating in Copenhagen

Opportunities were identified to double sales of district heat from 300 to 600 GWh, by enlarging the network and connecting large gas boilers in four municipalities.  The municipally owned waste management company Vestforbrænding made an investment of DKK500 million to do this.  Ramboll has provided the company with in-house consultancy services for 40 years, offering a number of different services.

Bunhill 2 District Heating Network - Heating up London

Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions of manufacturing facility for aircraft braking systems

Ramboll was engaged by a confidential aerospace and defense systems manufacturer who makes braking systems for the aerospace industry. Our client tracks and reports its greenhouse gas emissions to their corporate office as part of their corporate responsibility program, and subsequently reports its greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) as part of their Annual Global Report.

Tanner Springs Park

Formerly a wetland, the Pearl District was bisected by Tanner Creek and sided by the broad Willamette River. It was the rail yards and the industry who first claimed and drained the land. Over the past 30 years, a new neighbourhood has progressively established itself – young, mixed, urban and dynamic, today the Pearl District is home to families and businesses.

Offenbach Harbour

An industrial peninsula on the River Main in Frankfurt, Germany, is being converted into a new sustainable city district. The harbour forms the new urban focus with varied access to the water and multifunctional urban space. A promenade network connects the water to the more densely build-up area on one hand and to the new local park and regional river path on the other hand.

Tianjin Cultural Park

Tianjin is one of China’s top 5 cities, not just in size and population but also in terms of business investments. Located just half an hour south-east of Beijing by high-speed train, Tianjin is also close to the sea. The high-water table needs to be maintained to prevent seawater encroaching inland and the dry, harsh climate does not preclude flooding.

Dalderse Sludge Treatment Centre co-digestion feasibility study

The Sludge Treatment Centre at Dalderse in Falkirk, Scotland, is part of a large waste water treatment works dating from the 1960s and owned by Scottish Water. In 2010, Ramboll investigated using biogas by-products from the works to fuel vehicles or supply the gas grid. Ramboll Energy's current feasibility study determines the measures necessary to implement co-digestion of commercial and industrial waste with sewage sludge, and updates our earlier findings on exploiting the biogas as a commercial energy resource.At Dalderse, 432 tonnes per day of sewage sludge from several sites is digested in two mesophilic anaerobic digesters, where bacteria break down the sludge to produce methane and other by-products. E.ON Citigen Decarbonisation

The installation includes 4MW of combined heating and cooling heat pumps with ground borehole storage and is expected to reduce carbon emissions of the energy centre by up to 50%.

Securing supply and diversifying the energy mix in Morocco
