Streets and squares

Ramboll's Road and Motorway team plans and designs city streets and squares. The team focuses on traffic safety and the creation of a good environment for all types of traffic, including pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles.

Ramboll have worked with local municipalities on public area projects for many years. We understand the tough budget and time constraints of these types of projects.

Another common challenge to street and square projects is the selection of visually appealing and durable pavement materials. Ramboll's international experts have delivered many excellent pavement solutions, often utilising natural stones to ensure longevity and environmentally-friendliness.

Motorways and main roads

Ramboll has worked on all types of road projects all over the world. Our experience ranges from motorway solutions in heavily populated areas to gravel roads in developing countries.

In addition to regular detailed design services for motorways and main roads, Ramboll also supplies specialised services to widen existing motorway sections through both open land and highly complex town sections. We have the expertise to effectively manage the challenges posed by limited space, noise and existing structures.

Principal inspection of highway structures in the UAE

Palm Jumeira, Dubai

Principal Inspection of Highway Structures in UAE.  Highway structures are vital elements in Nakheel’s iconic development and enable access to the island. The whole life costs of the structures are expected to be significant. The number of highway structures that require a fully detailed asset management system is increasing.

Although the majority of the existing Nakheel bridges and tunnels were constructed within the past ten years, the need for inspection, maintenance and rehabilitation is essential to keep the road assets in service in a safe and usable condition. The effective management of these assets will help to secure a longer serviceable life for the structure.
